God’s Watchman Love His House

These are 2 of today’s Bible verses I follow,

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalms 127:1 NKJV

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” (Luke 6:35-36 NKJV)

The love God calls us to love with is almost impossible to walk out unless God’s Love is working in and then through us. It’s easy to love those dear to us. Sometimes we do err by over doing our expressions of love to them and paint them a false reality. Like when you want to give your grandchildren Everything they could possibly wish for at the expense of them placing little valve or regard for anything. Learning to “wait & value” the important things of life come from the early lessons we learn or they make come through much harder lessons later on, if ever.

The opposite end of Love is in loving those who have hurt us or one of our dear ones. It’s really easy to give to charities that help people halfway across the world whom you’ll never see or come to know. No matter what their character may be, they haven’t and probably will never offend you so loving from a distance is easy. It’s LOVING the one who disrespects you, disobeys you or has violated you trust in a hugh way that the LOVE of God in us helps us to Love them as Jesus Christ calls us to do.

To the church in Ephesus, Jesus had this to say about their lack of Love,

Revelation 2 NKJV   The Loveless Church
2To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,

‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’

Jesus praises this church for hating evil, testing the credentials and doctrines of those teaching them, (being Good Bereans Acts 17:10-12) and laboring to accomplish God’s work on earth. BUT Jesus has an issue with them, they are not walking in the Love they first walked in when they came to know Jesus as Lord. Can you remember when God’s Spirit first came into you and so much of the Love of God was in you that it had to come out and it was so easy to want to just Love everyone. I guess they got a little “too grown up” and thought that focusing on sound doctrine outweighed just Loving on people. Jesus said, “NO Don’t Do That, Remember to Love.”

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”

The Jesus speaks to the church in Smyrna,

Revelation 2:8-9  The Persecuted Church
8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: 9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

In the natural realm, apparently this church appears poor but in the eyes of Jesus “They Are Rich.” His only accusation is to imposters, workers of Satan who have crept in to make attempt to corrupt this praise worthy church. Satan and his demons go to church too and are probably in every church throughout the world attempting to lead God’s people astray, from the pastor to the one who’s as meek as a mouse. Have NO Fear, if Jesus is in that church, He and His Mighty Angels are warring against the attempts of the enemy but with that, Watchmen are called to be Good Bereans Too, from the pastor to the church mouse.

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

Then Jesus addresses the churches at Pergamos and Thyatira

Revelation 2:12-17  The Compromising Church
12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write,

‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. 15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’

Revelation 2:18-23  The Corrupt Church
18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write,

‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

24 “Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. 25 But hold fast what you have till I come. 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—

27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

I don’t think it was an accident that Jesus put these churches in the order as He did. The church “that compromised leads to the church that has become corrupt.” God is Rarely happy with or accepts compromise favorably in scripture. Certainly He Will NEVER compromise with sin.

Jesus does have some praise even for these churches because they  “hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith” and your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.”

In the church of Thyatira the Watchmen must have been at work because Jesus say,

“I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.”

Balaam and Jezebel both found ways to get Israel to compromise in sin, mostly sexual sin in both covert and overt ways. Balaam revealed the way to entice Israel to sin to Balak and just let the lusts of their unguarded flesh take it’s course. Jezebel on the other hand did it openly. Her husband Ahab was a wimp of a man and submitted to Jezebel and her desire to worship the gods of the pagan nations. She tried to kill all the True Prophets of God and hired 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah.

1 Kings 18:19 Now tell all Israel to meet me at Mount Carmel. Also bring the four hundred fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

No matter how or from what angle the enemy of our souls tries to get us to compromise living a life that pleases God, we should resist. Sin of any kind but especially sexual sin will bring about a loss of discernment across the board of scriptural understanding. Once a person has lost the ability to discern an added defense system instituted by God is “The Watchman.” If sin becomes so rampant in a church, family or person and God has given them up to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, the Watchman may cry out in vain but cry out he must or their blood is on him.

During worship last Sunday, I believe God brought a Bible verse from Isaiah, the faithful prophet and watchman of God to my remembrance and that I should write it down. It was verse 10, this is the passage it is from,

Isaiah 56:9-12  Israel’s Irresponsible Leaders
9 All you beasts of the field, come to devour,
All you beasts in the forest.
10 His watchmen are blind,
They are all ignorant;
They are all dumb dogs,
They cannot bark;
Sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11 Yes, they are greedy dogs
Which never have enough.
And they are shepherds
Who cannot understand;
They all look to their own way,
Every one for his own gain,
From his own territory.
12 “Come,” one says, “I will bring wine,
And we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink;
Tomorrow will be as today,
And much more abundant.”

I have mentioned in many posts of all the times I believe God woke me up to see 3:33 on the digital clock by my bed. Many other random times during the day to look at the time at exactly 3:33 until I searched for every 333 scripture in the bible. I like the one I use for a theme of this web page at the top from Jeremiah. I can’t forget to consider “the Other 333” scriptures in God’s Word though.

Ezekiel 33:1-3 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

Sometimes the Word of God REALLY makes me Tremble. It’s wrong for Watchmen to keep silent when God says, they should point out gross error. Error in the leadership of churches give consent for the laity to follow in their ways if they are weak or not mature in the Word of God.

That’s why I bring up things at times about the heresies of the NAR, COEXIST, and the Todd Bentley’s of Christian ministry, powerful forces at work in the churches today that are promoting “compromise of God’s Word” to stroke the flesh. It’s a pleasure to bring up what Benny Hinn is promoting now to point out what I have always believed as gross error, “the Prosperity Gospel.”

Most people’s first reaction to their or other people’s faults being brought up is of resentment  unless you’re a doctor and you just told someone they are in the beginning stages of cancer or some other terminal disease. What about if they kept silent not to offend or upset you in that case. If that situation applies to our mortal body, why not our eternal soul and where it will spend eternity, heaven or hell. Jesus nor the Bible speaks of ANY In Between place although it’s promoted in some religions. In John chapter 8 Jesus repeatedly warns if you “die in your sins” and insinuates that it is a Very Bad Thing to let happen.

John 8:21 Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.”

23 And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.

Sometimes I wonder if God caused me to always “despise” the Prosperity Gospel in order to keep me from becoming enamored  with the TBN, PTL, and all the other mega church ministries built on those teachings in order to save me from being swallowed up by them.

In the Greatness of God’s Love, He cares for all people as the verse from Luke says. In His wisdom, I’m sure there are times he withholds things from us until we are mature enough to handle it. It’s like a good parent or grandparent has to do to not “spoil the child” and turn them into an ungrateful brat, usually being miserable from never having enough no matter how much they have.

Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
