As In The Days of Noah

Recently my wife and I visited some family members the social distancing way. We brought our own lounge chairs, sat under the patio and had a good visit for a couple hours or more. As often happens, at one point our conversation made an opening where I could mention Bible things. I said that these events that we are going through and the uncertainty of how they will affect life as we know it were foretold in the Bible, especially in the Book of Revelation. As I spoke of the Bible and the prophesying of these events, those to come and other times the Word of God “nailed it” like in naming Cyrus as the rebuilder of Jerusalem 150 years before he was born, a familiar occurrence happened. My words were again falling on deaf ears and blank stares. I could sense the lack of interest.  I only spoke of “Bible things” for two or three minutes because no one seemed to want to hear it and surely no one asked to know more.

When it came time to say our goodbyes all was as normal as if I hadn’t even mentioned the Bible at all. Have you ever heard the saying, “in one ear and out the other”? Well it was like that, nothing I said about the Bible seemed to register, no harm, no foul, right.

When my wife and I got in the car to drive away, a thought came to me, “just what if all the witnessing about Jesus and the Word of God being true for all these years to this family were to save only ONE soul.” You see there was one who wanted to hear, even asked to hear about God and His ways. As much as I didn’t like the thought and I would much prefer to believe that some day the words I’ve spoken to them will take root and bare fruit, I had my doubts. Then I thought about Noah,

I thought, Noah and 7 others were the only souls saved after 120 years of preaching about the coming day of judgment from God. We know that Noah didn’t live in isolation apart from the rest of the world. His 3 sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth are proof of that because their 3 wives make up 3 of the 7 souls saved from the flood along with Noah making 8. 8 is a number of “new beginnings” often in the Bible. The great flood was the ultimate new beginning until today. Do you know the Quran speaks of Noah and the flood. Even ancient Chinese literature tells of a great flood and only 8 surviving it.

Common sense tells us that if Noah had daughters in law, along with them were all the other “in-laws” that go along with that. Noah had to have other acquaintances besides those in-laws. The Bible tells us that Noah was an evangelist in his day for many years and over all those years had little fruit to show for his efforts,

2 Peter 2:4-5 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

My minds eye was looking at the people I’ve witnessed to for many years, decades, from Noah’s point of view. I have been trying to throw drowning people a lifejacket and all the while they’re just enjoying a good swim. They don’t want God, Jesus or a lifejacket. The revelation was like a sucker punch to my gut and as much as I didn’t want to see it, their blank stares and silence spoke volumes and has been for years. Then another thought came, what about Lot? Lot didn’t do too well either in evangelising his realm of influence. His wife perished in their “rapture” event for looking back in regret at what she was leaving behind. Lot’s 2 son’s in laws didn’t make it out either.

2 Peter 2:6-9 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Surely Lot too had his in-laws that had relationship with him and everyone else in his daily dealings of life. And that’s how it is for those if us who are sharing our faith and knowledge of God’s Grace, Mercy, Love and His Precious Son Yeshua Jesus. We are commanded to go out and tell them and make disciples, “students – followers” of our Christ Jesus.

We know that it is not solely our efforts that accomplish this work because Jesus told us some important points about if and to who God’s viable offer is presented.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:16-21  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

God, in His unsearchable wisdom, invites mere humans to join Him in the work of telling about and encouraging others to desire to learn of our Great God and Father. The Bible tells us that God gives every person a “measure of faith” to believe in God. What each individual does with that will be weighed at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10).

For almost 2,000 years God for the most part has placed the Jewish peoples “spiritual existence” in a suspended animation. After rejecting the Perfect Lamb of God, Yeshua Jesus, God allow the total destruction of their 2nd temple so no more innocent animal blood would be shed in vain. Today their hopes have been rekindled of the 3rd temple and all preparations have been made for it’s “Kick Off” event, whatever that may be.

At times, I feel that this coronavirus thing may be the “Kick Off” event that sets the whole thing in motion. The world as we have known it may never be the same, especially the economy, and may fall right into what Revelation describes as “Birth Pains” getting harder and more frequent.

But thinking about Noah, Lot, Enoch, the prophet Elijah also makes me consider a surefire “Kick Off” event that will turn the world as we know it upside down. That’s the Rapture of the Bride of Christ and is hidden in the stories of Noah and Lot. When the truly faithful followers of Jesus are taken out of the way of all that satan tries to get away with, all hell will break loose. Probably like the flood of Noah’s day that for awhile provided a necessity, water, maybe even for a “Good Swim,” eventually it will be too much. At first, many will be glad the long professed rapture of the church has come and gone. Last August 3rd 2019, I had a dream that I made a note about.  Someone I love dearly told me, “I hope you go in the rapture” and my reply was, “I hope you go too,” but honestly I have my doubts because there’s no desire for God in their life. There may be those that will thank God, “the Gloom and Doom crowd is finally gone.” But eventually all the things the Gloom and Doomer’s said would happen will continue to happen as the Bible prophesied.

A couple days ago I remembered a Youtube video of a powerful testimony by a pastor that had a dream. A kind of rapture dream. About 5 years passed before he even told his wife. When he did she immediately said, “you have to ask our grandson Parker about the dream he had.” When the pastor asked the grandson their dreams were almost identical but Parker’s rapture dream had a little more details. Many more years passed and at a conference a total stranger approached the pastor and said, “God told me to tell you about my dream, You will be able to tell me what it means.” She too had the identical dream but is was a “cut short” version. She wasn’t raptured. She and the pastor had another “Pagiel” moment, (pagiel H6295 – from H6294 and H410, accident of God,) Watch the video to see and hear about it. God goes above and beyond to make His Word and ways believable but some refuse to believe anyway.

This is a very powerful witness that some day, probably when the the time of the gentiles that Paul taught about is over, God will remove the “suspended animation” Israel and the Jewish people have been placed under. God’s focus will be centered again, after 2,000 years, on Israel, their clock will start ticking again. The “blindness,” their darkness they have been living under for Rejecting the Light of the World, Yeshua Jesus Christ will be removed. Hopefully the “blindness” of some gentiles spiritual eyes will be removed too.
