God’s Offer Still Stands

The upheaval that the Coronavirus has brought upon the earth is still being realized as it touches every aspect of society. But we are not the first generation to go through times of trials and hardships. In only the last 100 years there have been pestilences that claimed many more lives than what is projected for this pandemic. (1918 Spanish Flu Killed 675,000 in U.S. ) The economy many times has seen far worst devastation and yet in time it recovered. But throughout history God has made it very clear that He Offers a place of refuge.

Before I started my Bible study today scriptures from Isaiah came to mind,

Isaiah 43:18-19 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

I read the entire chapter when I looked it up to read it again and it has many highlighted verses in it from previous readings. One of them that relates for today also has related in other times when God’s Word brought comfort and peace of mind,

Isaiah 43:1-2  But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God brought that verse to mind in recent years when we got a large amount of rain over a short period of time. Thousands of homes and businesses flooded all over Louisiana for that rain event. Our home was at the brink of being flooded but it didn’t, not even a drop.

But if my home had flooded, it wouldn’t have changed the fact that God was and still is watching over our home and lives. Jesus made a statement that addresses what today is called “collateral damage.” Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Luke 13:1-5  There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Except for a few Bible characters, and those that will be taken in the rapture, everyone else had a date with destiny that God foreknew would be their last on this earth. That date is not the most important thing to God but He takes it very seriously and reverently.

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints.

In today’s devotional reading from MyDailyBible app DailyPlan : one-year-tract : 2020-04-22 #Bible https://www.mydailybible.org/dp/esv/one-year-tract/2020-04-22.htm

God make an Incredible Offer to mankind,

Leviticus 26:3-13 If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, 4 then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely. 6 I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. 7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. 10 You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. 11 I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Even in times when the world around you is falling apart, maybe even touching you in some way, there is a peace that comes from God that even if this is my time and date with destiny, “I am alright in my relationship with God.” Most of the Apostles of Jesus met their date with destiny in very horrible ways. Many Christians throughout history have met their date with destiny in less than desirable conditions and yet had peace with God.

As my sister Lisa was in her last days of fighting off leukemia, until she could no longer speak, she had one thing she kept repeating, “Oh Jesus, you are so good to me.” She was a bold witness in her testimony of Christ during her life and in her dying as a “Born Again with God’s Spirit” Christian. She never shied away from openly professing her faith in Jesus and lived a consecrated life even if taking that stand brought rejection by some.

After God’s Incredible Offer to walk in covenant with HIm, He then goes into the consequences of choosing not to walk in that covenant. I won’t post all that but there is a section that deserves taking note of.

Leviticus 26:33-35 And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 “Then the land shall enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.

When we claim the promises of God and have faith that He will do what He says, it would be good to remember that God will keep the promises of not doing things God’s way. Daniel the prophet realized that their time in captivity was going to come to and end when the 70 year punishment would be met. The 70 year punishment was entirely because Israel had violated the ordinance God had told them to follow in Leviticus 25 concerning the Sabbath years.

In a not so small way, Jesus put the religious system in a spiritual time out for the last 2,000 years. Because that system was making “sons of hell” instead of Sons of God, He chose 12 Ordinary Men to take the old systems place.

Think about it, Adam and Eve brought sin upon all mankind for eating a fruit God said not to eat. God put His “Chosen People” in a 70 year timeout for not letting the land, “His Land” rest one year out of every seven. God isn’t like bad parents that set up house rules for their children to observe but never enforce them. Warnings and grace do come but if they are not appreciated and taken to heart, at some point the enforcement, “Justice” has to come. If it didn’t, the parent or God would be a liar and we know for sure it is impossible for God to lie.

We live in a fallen world that for the most part, the majority had shunned God and totally disregard anything He has said. For that reason alone, at times “Bad things happen to good people.” That isn’t the most important thing. The most important thing is after we meet our date with destiny, unless we are raptured out of this fallen world, what words will we hear.

Matthew 25:23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

People you need to understand, deception is in the churches. It would be hard to be deceived by someone promoting satanic world views if you are a Christian. It’s deception because it comes SO CLOSE to representing the truth  that it’s very believable. The “TEST” is does it line up with the Word of God. That’s when being a “Good Berean” matters. It’s up to you and only you to be a “Good Berean” and know what the Bible says for ourself. ONlY with the aid of the Holy Spirit can you truly understand the heart and intent of God’s Word. Many are perverting it by making merchandise of it or watering it down to make you think, “Hast God Said.” It worked on Eve and it’s still working today.

What Jesus said about those who told Him “Lord, Lord we did …” is still revelant for today, probably more so. God will always have a remnant of followers that truly desire to honor the Word of God. Not conform it to what the society is comfortable with. While many things may have lost their natural application, the spiritual one of God’s intent remains. No more animal blood can buy atonement for 1 more year. The Blood of Jesus put an end to that. While God NEVER Changes, the way He deals with mankind does.

Some systems, even religious ones have fallen away over time. Why should we think the one of our generation is different. Beware of people that tell you they will explain the Word of God to you. “Just check your God given brain at the door and I’ll tell you what to think.”

This video it titled, “Watch This Before The Tribulation” but I believe it has started, time will tell what world changes will be brought about because of the coronavirus. Read the Book of Revelation and BELIEVE what Jesus said was to happen at some future time. It was not the revelation of John,

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

God Can’t Lie and 2,000 years is less than a blink of the eye to Eternal God!!! Our life on earth will seem that way in eternity too!!! We will be eternal as God according to scripture. The Big Question is “Where Will Your Spend It?”
