Does God Accept Compromise?

Bishop Drew preached a good sermon yesterday, Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 “Renewing Your Visison,” that touched on the issue of “Does God Accept Compromise.” That is not what his sermon was about but the point came up early in the message. The sermon starts at 17:05 into the video.

Genesis 12:1 NKJV Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

Genesis 12:1 KJV Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

As Bishop Drew pointed out, Abram didn’t exactly follow God’s instructions. While he left his country and his father’s house, he didn’t entirely leave his family. Abram decided to bring along his nephew Lot.

Bishop Drew also pointed out that when Abram built his 1st altar to God between Bethel and Ai, God Did NOT speak to him there when Abram “called upon the name of the Lord.”

Genesis 12:8-9  And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord. And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.

Afterwards, Abram, Sarai and Lot go “down” to Egypt because of a famine in the land and later leave. The herdsmen of Abram and Lot are not getting along with each other. Abram tells Lot to pick a side of the Promised Land and he will take the other side. After Lot goes his way towards the plains of Jordan and Abram is “really” separated from his kindred, headed towards Canaan.

As soon as Lot and Abram separate from each other God speaks again to Abram,

Genesis 13:14-17  And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

Later in the Bible we can see another time when God doesn’t settle for compromise when Moses is told and tries to obey God in getting Pharaoh of Egypt to let God’s people go free.

Israel, after spending 400 years in Egypt, has picked up many bad cultural habits and beliefs. Our life, when we come to Christ is like theirs, we will have many bad habits and accepted ideas that are not God’s way of doing things. We are told by Jesus to “follow” Him. We aren’t to do our own thing, any way we want to. We are to do “all” in the way that “pleases God.”

Following anything or anyone means that if they stop, you stop. If they turn left, you turn left. If they turn right, you turn right. Have you ever followed or led another person to a destination while you are in one vehicle and they are in another? If the follower gets caught behind a traffic light or gets cut off by other drivers because of lagging too far behind and loses sight of the lead vehicle, what do you call that? They are lost! They’ve gone astray, off the “Straight and Narrow” path. Thankfully, since cell phones have been around, communication to regain that “follow the leader” scenario can be easily reestablished. To a Christian, the leading of the Holy Spirit is our built in communication to get us to stay on God’s path to bring us to the destination He desires for us.

2 Corinthians 5:14  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

The NKJV says, “compels us.”  His Love for us and our love for Him has a controlling effect on the things we do and “how we do them.”

Pharaoh Is A Type of Satan Working To Get Israel To Compromise With God

After the plagues of turning the water into blood, frogs, lice, and flies is when the first proposal to compromise is offered. Pharaoh hears Moses proposal again and gives in some but tries to get Moses to COMPROMISE.

Genesis 8:25-28  And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. 26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? 27 We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he shall command us. 28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.

Pharaoh’s first attempt to get Moses to compromise says, “go sacrifice to your God in the land.” In other words, you can go but stay in Egypt. Moses says the Egyptians will kill us for doing that. Then Pharaoh’s second attempt to get Moses to compromise with God’s plan to bring them out of Egypt says, ok, you can go, “only you shall not go very far away.”

If the devil today cannot have complete control in a Christian’s life, he will relinquish some control to be able to yet keep man in his jurisdiction, so to speak, but Jesus said this,

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Pharaoh’s  third attempt to get Moses to compromise with God’s plan,

Genesis 10:8-11  So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the Lord your God. Who are the ones that are going?” And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a feast to the Lord.” 10 Then he said to them, “The Lord had better be with you when I let you and your little ones go! Beware, for evil is ahead of you. 11 Not so! Go now, you who are men, and serve the Lord, for that is what you desired.” And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

This third time Pharaoh says go serve the Lord your God but only “you who are men,” denying Moses permission to let all the people of Israel to go.

After Egypt is plunged into 3 days of heavy darkness, except where God’s people are, Pharaoh is almost ready to give into God’s way of how He wants Israel to get out of Egypt but not entirely. Pharaoh’s attempt to get Israel to compromise with God’s Plan will cost him the life of his and every other Egyptians first born child.

Pharaoh’s fourth and final attempt to get Moses to compromise with God’s plan,

Exodus 10:24  Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, “Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you.”

25 But Moses said, “You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. 26 Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the Lord our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.”

Pharaoh has given up on getting the people of God to worship Him in the place Pharaoh chooses. Pharaoh’s given up on trying to keep all of God’s people from worshiping God but says, “only let your flocks and your herds be kept back.” You, your wives, sons and daughters can go, just leave behind your wealth and possessions that give you sustenance, and your animals that will become your offering to God.

Moses resists Pharaoh’s fourth attempt to get him to compromise with the instructions God has given him to “follow.” Moses says, “not a hoof shall be left behind.”

In Exodus chapter 12, God not only instates exactly how the Passover is to be observed for the 1st time ever, in every detail, God also instates a entirely new calendar for the “people of God” to follow. God is always “calling out” a people to Himself to “be separated unto Him,” to follow Him in the way He chooses. The Word of God often tells Christians that they are to be a “Holy” people.

Holy means – to be dedicated, consecrated to God or a religious purpose.  It means being “set apart” for God’s purpose but also NOT Going along with the flow of the world. Doing everything the world does to “fit in with the world” and what God says to do too. Remember Jesus’ words,

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Up until this point, the children of Israel have been sitting it out on the bench, watching the Power and Glory of God in action. Now it’s their turn to “follow the instructions” of God, exactly! If they get this wrong it will mean certain death to the first born of that household.

What if the people of God had thought and decided, “maybe I won’t put the blood on the lentil of the door, just the door posts,” only to have their first born child be taken by the death angel. I believe the children of Israel had witnessed enough of God’s power through all the 9 previous signs and wonders He had done against the Egyptians that they took God’s instructions very seriously and “followed them.”

Fast forward about 1,200 years from the Exodus, to the night of the “Last Supper.” What do you think Jesus’ reaction would have been if when they gathered to eat the Passover meal a deer, calf or pig would have been roasted? How quickly would Jesus have said to the server, “Get Thee Behind Me Satan.” Or do you think Jesus would have said, “That’s OK boys, we don’t want to offend anybody in the world so pork can be the new white meat. Besides eating this pork can be a good evangelizing tool to win the gentiles. We need to ‘fit in with them.’” Or maybe Jesus would have said, “It’s OK boys, you don’t have to follow all the Father’s instructions, the weather’s bad, let’s postpone the date to a more convenient time of ‘our choosing,’ ‘Father God will understand our hearts in the right place.’”

How ridiculous do those proposed compromises of what Jesus could have said appear to any normal Bible believing Christian. Sadly, how often and how many Christians not only find areas in their life to compromise with the “perfect will of God” but also give in and compromise with the perfect will of Satan. You might think, NO Real Christian would ever do that but isn’t that what is about to take place at many churches in a couple of days as they celebrate the highest holy day of Satan. Many Satanist and witches are even upset with the fact that Christians want to invade and take part in their high holy day that celebrates death and has celebrated death for thousands of years throughout the world.

In researching this I heard an ex-Satanist says, “do you see satanists, witches and other occult followers packing out churches on Passover or Good Friday to celebrate the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross?” Maybe they are more “holy, seperated and consecrated” to their gods and doing only things that please their gods than some Christians are, think about it.

Thousands of years ago peoples across the entire Earth somehow knew to create celebrations that glorified darkness, death and the dead. How is this possible unless these peoples and cultures across the Earth were enticed by demonic spirits to choose this certain day for that purpose?

Halloween is a blasphemous perversion of the Christian belief in the Resurrection. In Christianity, the righteous dead are resurrected in a glorified, immortal body. In Druidism, the dead are raised as horrifying creatures of the night, hideous monsters, decaying skeletons, vampires, etc. They received not glorified bodies, but grotesque ones; not immortal bodies, but inhuman ones.

Samhain was the supreme night of Demonic jubilation. This was a celebration of the beginning of Winter and darkness, as daylight grew noticeably shorter, and nights lengthier. The hoardes of hell would roam the earth in a wild celebration of darkness and death, all in honor of Samhain! Pity the poor mortal forced to travel on such a night! The only thing the superstitious people knew to do to protect themselves on such an occasion was to masquerade as one of the demonic hoarde, and hopefully blend in unnoticed among them! This is the origin of Halloween masquerading as devils, imps, ogres, and other demonic creatures.

‘Halloween will CURSE your family’ Former Satanist warns Christians AGAINST celebrating,

This former Satanist says, “ Why would you take something that’s demonic and slap the name of Jesus on it. Jesus isn’t going to show up and bless your stuff.” He gives 5 reasons of why NOT to celebrate Halloween.

  1. It gives Satan legal rights.
  2. Eternal Mistake, he say Anton Lavey, the famous devil worshiper with 8,000 followers said, “I want to thank every Christian parent for allowing their children to worship Satan at least one time a year to celebrate my holiday.”
  3. Satanists Celebrate this day. He says, how many Satanists or witches pack out churches to celebrate Passover or Good Friday saying, “we want to celebrate the finished work of the cross.”
  4. We bring it into our churches, even though there is no Biblical example of this in the Bible.
  5. Demonic candles bring the works of darkness.

Why Satanists and Witches Celebrate Halloween and Why Christians Should Not

Israel’s First Attempt To Compromise With God Almost Brought Their Total Destruction

Let’s look back about 3,332 years to the time of the Exodus for an example of Israel’s attempt to compromise with God. Moses had been up on Mt. Sinai for 40 days and nights getting the instructions and the 10 Commandments directly from God. Aaron, Moses’ brother goes along with the will of the people who think maybe Moses has died and they want a “Golden Calf” to worship God with. They weren’t asking to worship some other Egyptian god. They said the Golden Calf was to worship God.

Exodus 32:4-5  And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf.

Then they said, “This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord.”

So what was God’s response to Aaron and the children of Israel incorporating an image of a well known idol in Egypt, the Apis Bull. Dressing it up in Gold didn’t make it acceptable to God. Even saying we are worshipping the “God, Of Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt,” DIDN’T make it acceptable to God. Actually God was very furious with them for “incorporating idol worship into worship given to HIM.”

God Makes Moses An Offer That Not Very Many Men Would Have Refused

Exodus 32:9-10  And the Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people! 10 Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.”

God is so angry with the Golden Calf and the children of Israel worshiping HIM with it that He wants to totally wipe them out, “consume them.” God considers scratching out the covenant He made with Abraham and start all over, making a new covenant with Moses and make his descendents “a great nation.” That’s how seriously God takes doing “Bible Things in Bible Ways.” Many pastors and down to the Christian in the pew take liberty with the Grace of God to “mix” things that are Holy unto God with things of the world that God Totally Despises with a Holy Hatred.

If churches and Christians can justify celebrating Halloween in a way so they can be a “witness for Jesus” on this most important day celebrated all over the world by those glorifying darkness, death and the dead, when doors to the occult world are more fully open than any other day of the year, what’s the limit on other occasions that can be used for “witnessing for Jesus.”

Can Christians justify going to strip clubs “to be a witness for Jesus.” Would that be acceptable? Or how about all the local bars? Most people in them have a shallow at best relationship with Jesus as their God, Redeemer and Savior. Wouldn’t that be a good place to go every day of the year to find those to be a “witness for Jesus?”

That’s how I believe Father God looking down from heaven sees His “called out, set apart” people trying to put a “Gold Dressing” on the most celebrated day of the year for the occult.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Leviticus 19:2 “Speak to all the congregation of the people         of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

Leviticus 20:7 Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy,  for I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:26 You shall be holy to me, for I the LORD am holy and have separated you from the peoples that you should be mine.

Leviticus 21:8 You shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I, the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.

Exodus 19:6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.

Ephesians 4:11-16  And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

We are all called to be a witness for what God reveals to us about walking out a life that please Him and leaves behind the habits and cultural practices that were normal in “the world,” our Egypt.

1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Just how many Levitical priest do you suppose would go along with any kind of pagan idol worship, in the Name of God? God has called us out of darkness, not to celebrate it’s high holy day along with the rest of the world.

1 Peter 2:11-12 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Is taking part in any way to celebrate the highest holy day of the occult “abstaining” fleshly lusts that war against the soul. It’s not just lusts, it’s the very demonic spirits that war against every persons soul that are being called upon on this special day of the year to Satan. When worldly people see Christians celebrating this day in any kind of way do they think, “they are some set apart people” or do they say, “they are just like us, they just decorate their party  a little differently.” Aren’t we suppose to avoid the appearance of doing evil?

If you are of a different mind in considering the celebration of Halloween along with the rest of the world on this day Satan has consecrated to himself, I ask that you only seek God about this and for His direction. If you can maintain a clean conscience without any doubts about it being wrong then I suppose you can find a scripture to bring you some comfort in that.

If you have ANY Doubt or Reservation in it’s correctness, is it really worth offending God over? Is it really worth having God NOT speak to you for awhile like He did to Abraham. Is it really worth angering God because you have chosen to worship Him using the tools and ways of the enemy?

Jeremiah 10:1-3 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

If you are a Christian and you want to justify this unholy holiday as a celebration of the fall season and the time of harvest, there’s a Biblical Holiday that celebrates that. It was not even mentioned in many Bible preaching churches only a couple weeks ago. It’s called Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles by Father God Himself. Those who do recognise the importance of that “Holy Convocation” called by Father God Himself, saying that “His People” should observe or at least mention, if observed or remembered, will make you be noticed as a “Peculiar People” as Peter says in the KJV Bible,

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig!!!
