Psalm 41, Life and Growth of A Christian

Jesus Said, Be Fruitful & Multiply Genesis 1:28

John 1:1-5 KJV   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

In the video above, I combined a video teaching and life experiences on Psalm 41 by Love A Child’s missionaries, Bobby and Sherry Burnette, partnering with Jentezen Franklin’s Ministry to a teaching video (at 13:38 in the video) by timfoster504 on Youtube on the same subject, helping the poor and needy. Tim’s video incorporates “giving alms,” helping the poor and needy to the “sanctification” process in the “three phases of salvation.”

Keep in mind, the Love A Child video is from 2012, Bobby was supposed to die within 6 months of skin cancer before this video. He and Sherry are still ministering in Hattie today. Consider supporting them or someone in need, even if you are in need.

Share what you have if at all possible with someone in need. At least pray to God for those in need  if that’s all you have faith for, but do something and see God move in your life and theirs. “Alms” are above what  you normally tithe to your local church.

This is not a “works based salvation” gospel. You don’t do good works to be or earn “salvation.” You do good works as evidence that you are saved as the Book of James clearly describes.

You don’t have to teach a bird to fly or a fish to swim, he does this simply because that is what’s natural to them. A Christian, acting like Jesus Christ should be natural to them because the “Spirit,” of Jesus Christ is living in them. Being “Born Again” means that the Spirit of God that was NOT in you, is NOW born in you.  How can the Spirit of Almighty God, the Holy Spirit, be in a person and NOT have an effect on the life and  actions of that person. You can “know” that you are truly “Born Again” and have received the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Christ in you, the hope of Glory WILL change you.

Your “Born Again” spirit needs nurturing just like any other thing to grow. The Word of God is it’s Food. Jesus said if we remain “attached” to Him, “The Vine” we can produce fruit. If we are “detached” from the vine He said we would become dead branches, good only to be burned in the fire. (John 15:1-7)

Apple Baby

If you compare a newly formed apple just after the petals fall off to a newly Born Again Christian, it’s stage of maturity is “perfect” as a Christian at this point. If the Rapture occurred, they’d be ready to go!! If it’s a month later (10 human years), they would need to have remained on the branch, nourished by the Root of the tree (Holy Spirit), through the trunk and limbs and have reached the next stage of development.  As long as growth continues, it is in a “perfect state of development” at that stage. In the picture below, the apple is “perfect” for that stage even though it’s not mature.

Apple Flower to Fruit

Growth HAS to continue towards maturity or else death occurs prematurely, NOT a good thing in the comparison to the life of a Christian. Jesus says he will spit lukewarm Christians out of His mouth in the other “3:16 verse” Revelation 3:16

The video above is Bishop Drew’s sermon titled “Personal House Cleaning,” it begins at 9:30 into the video. As Tim Fosters video and Bishop Drew preached, continued growth must be the goal of a Christian. As Bishop Drew  and Tim explain, there are times of “setbacks” or maybe times of actual “backsliding” but growth needs to resume for the apple or a Christian to remain attached to the Source of Life. For the apple, it’s “The Branch” and ultimately the roots of the tree. For a Christian it’s God’s Word, the Holy Spirit and Fellowship with Jesus and Father God.

Personal House Cleaning

God is so vastly superior in intelligence and wisdom to us humans but He has made these concepts simple and easy to understand and Jesus Himself outlined these things in the Word of God. Some Christians try to make formulas and create check lists to follow strictly and compare our list to others list then argue who has the right list. If we would only read the Word of God and apply it to our own life instead of figuring out who God wants you to tell it too. Take the beam out your own eye before looking for the spec in your brothers eye is what Jesus taught. If you read my testimony, I’ve had to remove some pilings out of my eyes. Now that I have, I just want to share the simple way of approaching God’s Word mainly by knowing it for yourself. We need the “Five Fold Ministry” and all the wisdom it has to offer but we MUST be good Bereans. Pastor Charles Lawson says, “the more you read the Word of God, you will realize the Word of God is READING YOU.” It will show you where and how you fit in line with it and where and how you don’t. The Word of God IS ALIVE, Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

Be sure you have received the spirit of Jesus Christ because as the Apostle John rightly warns,

1 John 4:1-5 KJV Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

The Spirit of God Almighty, living in a person WILL give them the desire and Power to Overcome the “Willful, Presumptuous Sins” that once had dominion over them.

This is even more true in these “end times” because Jesus warned that if it were possible, even the very elect could be deceived.
